The following pages contain the simple tutorials that were used at our 1997 workshop.
| Tutorial 1 - Unbounded Diffusion
A simple example of two ligand release sites diffusing at different rates |
|
| Tutorial 2 - Ligand Sampling
The same situation as before, except that now we introduce two rings of sampling boxes. |
|
| Tutorial 3 - Linear Diffusion 1
This input creates a line of sampling boxes away from the point of diffusion between a bounding box. It also introduces the use of a checkpoint file. |
|
| Tutorial 4 - Single Binding: One Pole
This example introduces the use of effectors and reactions to simulate single binding events between diffusing ACh and a grid of AChR molecules on a surface. |
|
| Tutorial 5 - Single Binding: Both Poles
This example shows that binding events may occur at both poles of an effector site. |
|
| Tutorial 6 - AntiPorter Reactions
This model creates an antiporter which is used to exchange two ligands across a membrane. |
|
| Tutorial 7 - Simple MEPC generation
This example simulates the generation of a single MEPC (miniature endplate current) |
|
| Tutorial 8 - Train of MEPC's
This is the same as Tutorial 7, but instead of one release there are 3 ligand releases |
|
| Tutorial 9 - Simple Pore
This creates a model of a vesicle where the size of the pore changes at each checkpoint by reading and writing to a reference file. |
