CQBS Research: Software Development

PSC_DX is a visual programming and application development environment for multidimensional data manipulation and visualization.  It is a derivative of the OpenDX software package, which itself was originally developed by IBM as the proprietary Data Explorer (DX) environment. In contrast to other visual programming environments, both OpenDX and PSC_DX are based on a very general and powerful data model within which hierarchical multidimensional structures and datasets can be represented, manipulated, and annotated, and which is especially advantageous for spatially realistic cell modeling, simulation, and visualization. PSC_DX development is ongoing and includes numerous improvements to OpenDX rendering and user interface features, and also many customizations that enable optimized execution of DReAMM functions (see below).
