CQBS Research
Research at the CQBS focuses on spatially realistic cell modeling in biomedicine, using Monte Carlo and hybrid simulation algorithms coupled to specialized model construction, editing, and visualization tools. Research thus falls into two interconnected categories, software development and biomedical application projects.
Software Development
Biomedical Application Projects
- Presynaptic calcium dynamics and neurotransmitter release
- Biophysical factors underlying the variability of synaptic signals
- Simulation of oscillating biochemical networks
- Simulation of ion-selective electrode measurements of single ion channel properties
